Seattle – I-5 Shooting Suspects May Have Planned Sniper Attack

Two men arrested Friday night during a bizarre shooting spree along Interstate 5 in North Seattle may have been planning to fire at vehicles driving up and down the freeway, police said Sunday. “One theory is that maybe they were going to snipe at people as they were driving by on I-5,” Seattle Police Department spokeswoman Renee Witt told KOMO News Share and Enjoy: Original article: Forum: News/Activism

The Road to #140conf: The State of NOW

August 2009 was one of the busiest Augusts I can remember. But then again, in past years I wasn’t working on #140conf. During August I visited: Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles (twice) and spent time in meetings in New York City. At the moment I am working in parallel on three #140conf events - Tel Aviv (Oct 11/12), Los Angeles (Oct 27/28) and London (Nov 17/18). Later today I will be flying to London to do a walk-thru at the venue for #140conf: London. While in L

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ gets serious for its season premiere… seriously

"Grey's Anatomy" serious? Seriously?!It's all very serious.Look, George is dead. So Seattle Grace has a funeral to attend. There will be grief to work through. And Izzie's still got that whole cancer thing going on. Also, it seems as though the Chief might have finally reached his limit. Like, for real this time. The mood is...

Mike Holmgren, In Loving Memory FAIL

Mike Holmgren, In Loving Memory FAIL . I saw the video below of a crazed Seattle Seahawks fan who has covered his legs with Tattoos. I know what you are saying, and yes the NFL is so Fun Tastic that even the Seahawks have crazed fans. I started to look at his prized leg art, and I noticed that his Holmgren was very “Prison Tattoo”ish. It reminded me of the interweb famous “In Loving Memory” Tattoo (pictured above), and thus this post was birthed. Seriously, tattoo parlors should have signs tha

Quieting The Noise: Seahawks Will Not Release Deion Branch

Recently a few fans in Seahawks Nation have said that the Seahawks should or will be releasing wide receiver Deion Branch. And those fans have continued onto the radio and have become now “rumors” that are spreading across the NFL. Some writers on Bleacher Report have even bought into the idea of the Seahawks releasing Branch. Now before I last out at my reason why this will never happen let’s take a look at some other “Deion Branch” news this off season. The same pe

Not even a shiver

This was the temperature this morning when I went to pick up my Mom: I think AdventureMan would be wearing his long johns and a fleece vest, but to me, it feels great. In late August, early September in Seattle, the day often starts off cold and grey and foggy, but by noon, all the clouds and fog burn away and it is a glorious, warm beautiful day. Here’s the WeatherUnderground Webcam photo for Seattle today: Is that gorgeous or what?

Sleepy Bear Blog Tour

Sometime last year, we had the opportunity to review a wonderful baby sling called the Sleepy Wrap , which was given the thumbs up by the majority of our parent reviewers. The same company,  NAP, Inc.  recently introduced The Sleepy Bear , their very first stuffed toy to help promote babywearing!  Mommies and daddies will be pleased to learn that the Sleepy Bear is made from the softest organic cotton, making it the perfect toy for your little child to cuddle. Safety wise, parents ca

If only the album was this dope*

*Ok, ok…to be fair, I haven’t even heard it.  I sure hope the early reviews I’ve seen on Twitter aren’t accurate though.  The leaks I’ve heard thus far haven’t been that impressive, but I’m about to give it a real listen…here goes nothing!

A Thousand Words: One Fat Baby

SEATTLE, WA -I was a fat baby.My mom loves to remind me of this fact. I was so large that strangers used to ask why this toddler of hers was having such a hard time sitting up on his own. It pained my mother to have to tell them that this toddler was actually a six-month-old baby, barely old enough to digest solid food.Apparently, not only was I something closely resembling a small hippo as a baby, I was also riddled with terrible skin; acne so bad that she had to keep a hanky on hand to collec

Another injury to a Chiefs quarterback

As word spread today that Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback Matt Cassel will be out 2-to-4 weeks with a sprained MCL, now comes news that the Chiefs' backup quarterback Tyler Thigpen has broken ribs. Joel Turner, the agent for Thigpen, said his client is playing with two broken ribs, which Turner said Thigpen suffered in the first preseason game. Thigpen did not play in the second preseason game, but he did play in the third one, spelling Cassel after he was hurt on the third play of the g
