Hiking (with the iPhone)

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed On my recent hike up Rattlesnake Ridge , I decided to record a video on the way back down. I wanted to prove, of course, that I had actually gone outside! And I also wanted to show you that not everyone in Seattle glistens in the sun because they’re a vampire. Some of us do so simply from breaking a sweat! It was beautiful up on top of the Ridge, definitely. There were no power outlets or Internet signals, though. This made th

Verizon will run LTE trials in Seattle and Boston later this year

We don’t know if this is indicative of the company’s rumored plans to roll out LTE in Q1 2010 , but Verizon has announced that it’ll start running trials of its 4G network later this year, and the lucky cities to first get a stab at it are Seattle and Boston. In an earnings call today, CFO John Killian reiterated that the plan is to have a commercial launch in “up to 30 markets next year” (note he didn’t say when in 2010), with an expected 100 million points of presence for LTE by 2013. LG BL40 caught in the wild, given brief hands-on

We’ll admit, we’re jealous of this Sina Corporation reporter, who appears to have gotten some hands-on time with LG’s very sexy Chocolate BL40 and its 21:9 aspect ratio screen. There isn’t much said here aside from details we already knew and the occasional compliment on its form factor and display, but it is good to see this in the wild and not just in the FCC ’s secret lab facilities. Now if only we can get a better idea of its US 3G capabilities … Filed under: Cellphones LG BL40 caught in the

Seattle Divorce Attorneys for Mothers and Fathers

Some Seattle divorce attorneys advertise that they represent fathers and specialize in father’s rights in Seattle child custody cases. The truth is that Washington State family law does not distinguish between m other s and fathers as the law applies equally to all persons. A good html “> Seattle divorce attorneys represents her client’s best interests and the best interests of the children in a divorce proceeding. Social Media + Government | Crowd Building

Did you think I would let this blog go uncared for more than a few months.  A recent project for a large software company in Seattle had me thinking about social media and government.  This is why the Obama’s administration latest “ widget ” (I use the term loosely” is an excellent example of what I (and others I am sure) call Crowd Building using Twitter.  That is the idea of building a vocal and pronounced social majority when it comes to a specific issue and/or cause.

Sound Session #217 (7-26-09)

Ok, honestly…it’s about 10pm and still damn near 90 degrees here in Seattle.  I like summer weather, but in a city that only has AC in office buildings and stores, we’re just not built for this.  J and I always disagree, but I’d rather be too cold over too hot any day.  If it’s freezing, at least you can turn on the heat or put on more clothes.  If it’s 80+ degrees in the dead of night, there’s only so many Otter Pops you can devour. Unfortunately for the town, we didn’t help the cause by play
