Microsoft taking a stand against spammers

If you’re an MSN Messenger or MSN Live Messenger user, you’ll know about spammy friend requests. You receive a message from an unknown user asking to be your friend. Much the same happens on instant messengers like Skype. Microsoft are taking a stand against the MSN spam bots and are pushing a huge amount of money into combating the spam. Kingston, WA: a perfect place to cool off

For quite some time I’ve been meaning to go up to Edmonds and catch the ferry over to Kingston; today’s heat finally inspired me to do so. When it’s hot out there are few places nicer to be than on a ferry crossing the Puget Sound. Puget Sound’s water is always beautiful and cool. The “Gateway to the Olympics” is lush and verdant. A mama seagull made a nice little home for her babies on a beam at the Kingston ferry terminal. You can look across the Sound and see Seattle. D

Fun day at a beach near Seattle

We went to the beach today, just like Pedro . The only difference is that he was near Lisbon and we were near Seattle. A little far away from each other geographically, but only a few posts apart here in this blog. Many people think Seattle is on the Pacific Coast, but it lies on the Puget Sound , a very large salt water estuary of the Pacific. We are lucky to have several great beaches within 30 minutes or so from where we live. For today's outing we chose this one called Picnic Point in

sunday post: back in the garden knowing what we know

Lars von Trier is famous for never flying, and thus never visiting America, despite the fact that he’s set most of his recent films there. Some laugh about this; others compare him to Kafka when the latter is up to this sort of thing: As Karl Rossmann, a poor boy of sixteen who had been packed off to America by his parents because a servant girl had seduced him and got herself a child by him, stood on the liner slowly entering the harbour of New York, a sudden burst of sunshine seemed to ill
